Horizon is a different thing in the valley
But the moon can't hide her face on the mountain.
When you've run where I have walked
Will you have seen the beauty of my world?
Fear the rocks and you'll miss the trees.
Find a way to breathe without air
And walk Where gods have tread with care.
I knew a man who saw the face of God.
He couldn't walk away; I think he died that day.
If you find Heaven, can you turn back
And walk me home? If that's too much to ask,
Blaze a trail so I can find my way.
I've seen angels. They dance on mountaintops
Pulling at the clouds with lightning hands.
Home is as beautiful as you, my love,
And the road

The Tragedy of Success
The tragedy of success is the expectation of the repitition,
for if once you succeed, it is assumed you can do it again, and so expected.
To err is human, to fail is to err greatly,
does it not follow that to be human begs some failure?
Failing to fail, can one be human? If not, best be the best god you can,
for what good is a god who fails? Or better to be a rock, O mortal; ashes to ashes.
Success implies a goal; a goal implies an end; an end,
Ends are the works of gods. Remember, thou art mortal. Remember, thou art mortal.
And so, being mortal, know you shall end. And if you must end, set a goal, why not?
But never forget that y

Losing Our Humanity
Tearing down the walls that kept me safer in my younger days,
Living, if you'd call it that, in anyway I can.
Can't bring myself to think of all the lives destroyed along the way.
Oh, God, what am I now; I'm surely now no more a man?
My body shows the scars that hide the scars I hold within me.
Chained down, who gives a damn? I've broken out before.
This life I've led has sailed into some stranger seas.
Leave me alone, you shining Son of God, implore.
I am the beast who roams these hallowed grounds all night.
How long since I last saw those bright and shining city lights?
It's been too long. I can't go back. There is no way I can ge
I bought cigars the day you died
And passed them out to all who cried,
A token of the day that you were born.
They lowered you beneath the earth
As I asked the driver of the hearse,
"What is it like to bear someone so worn?"
He told me this, I can't forget,
The look he had, the way he sniffed,
So proud was he, and this I've always sworn:
Good men die and go away
But stories will forever stay.
I'm glad that I could be here with you now.
These lives we lead are memories
Of days unknown and posterity
So live your life and make your children proud.
There is no gift that you can give
Like love that life will not outlive.
Now shine
